Complete Book of Boats Set for Launch
Bauer Media, the world’s largest magazine publisher, is revitalising two iconic mastheads, Trade-a-Boat and TrailerBoat, to create The Complete Book of Boats.
From early 2014, Trade-a-Boat and TrailerBoat will unite under the Trade-a-Boat masthead, featuring every type of boat, both big and small, sail and power.
Jeff Strang, editor of Bauer’s market-leading Trade-a-Boat magazines in Australia and New Zealand, will head a proven editorial team, based in Australia.
“The new marine ‘centre of excellence’ will have a strong team of boat testers, photographers, videographers and magazine designers who have an enviable record of making boats and marine products look amazing on any platform,” he said.
“Angelo San Giorgio brings all his experience as TrailerBoat editor to become Trade-a-Boat’s field editor, while the legendary John ‘Bear’ Willis is on board as ace tester and roving ambassador.”
Trade-a-Boat – The Complete Book of Boats will feature more than 400 pages, with sections dedicated to:
• News, features and products
• Big boats
• Trailer boats
• Sail boats
• Watersports
• Commercial
• Classifieds
The new book will continue to showcase leading marine products including Australia’s Greatest Boats, as well as new features Kiwi-Kings and Hall of Fame during the coming year.
The Bauer Media marine footprint will extend beyond the Trade-a-Boat brand with a host of annuals, including the Sanctuary Cove International Show Yearbook.
Additionally, the Trade-a-Boat brand will work closely with the dedicated classifieds site tradeboats.com.au and the revitalised trailerboat.com.au, focused on trailerboat adventures. The marine footprint will also see leading content delivered via social media, video and other innovative digital platforms.
Trade-a-Boat – The Complete Book of Boats will be unmistakable on Australian newsstands from 13 February 2014, and the launch will be supported by an extensive marketing campaign showcasing the ‘Power of Bauer’.
The last stand-alone issue of TrailerBoat will be issue 303, on sale mid-January 2014.
