News - Maritimo makeover for M48

One of the most successful boats from the Maritimo yard is the M48 Cruising Motoryacht and it has undergone a complete makeover, the second remodeling in less than two years.

The builder said the new larger and more refined flybridge cruiser is already creating interest months before the first boat is due to be finished.

The original M48 is one of the company’s most successful models and early last year, to celebrate hull no.100, Maritimo released the Series II. This variant featured a remodeled flybridge and bigger galley, along with several other structural and cosmetic changes.

Maritimo says the M48 has been popular with overseas owners, in places as far away as Italy, Spain, the UK, the USA and UAE.

Maritimo Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines said the revised M48 was a continuation of the company’s commitment to work on its core strengths and design differences in the cruising motoryacht market.

“Our enclosed flybridge designs, internal staircase, walkaround decks and aft galley configuration are all what Maritimo has become famous for, and we have included and improved all those elements in our new M48,” said Haines.

“The renowned fuel efficiency and performance levels have not been compromised and the hull design still makes for exceptional seakeeping, but we have lengthened the hull and changed the layouts to provide a full-beam master suite, a double VIP/guest cabin forward and starboard bunk cabin.

“The major change in the new M48 is the full-beam master suite, which is luxurious and spacious, making the boat perfect for families who have several children or for cruising couples who want their own space and privacy, while also being able to take up to two other couples with them at times.

“By having their own master suite with en suite their privacy and comfort is assured,” said Haines.

As with the first model, Haines added the positioning of the galley aft was a big plus and feedback from owners was that this was one of the key features in making the M48 so livable. “The wide walkaround decks also feature heavily in our research as being something that really attracts people to this particular model,” he said.

Haines said Maritimo had enjoyed considerable success with its M45 Cruising Motoryacht launched at the recent Sydney International Boat Show and it expects the new version M48 to get a similar reception from the boat-buying public.

“When we first launched the M48 it was the smallest cruiser in our range to offer a three-cabin layout, which basically provided the same livability of the larger vessels in the fleet such as the M60, albeit on a slightly smaller scale,” said Haines.

“Now with the added benefit of the full-beam master this boat really is a mini-superyacht and it will sell very well I am sure,” he said.
