Maritimo Buoyed by Interest in M45 Cruising Motor Yacht

Luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo has been encouraged by the response to its new 45-foot Cruising Motor Yacht with two orders for the boat before production has been finalised.

The company expects the M45 to be one of its standout models in 2012 and hull no.1 is currently under production.

According to Maritimo, the M45 Cruising Motor Yacht has evolved after considerable R&D, including one-on-one research sessions with dealers and current Maritimo owners to ensure it meets all market expectations.

Maritimo CEO Garth Corbitt said the response to the M45 had been tremendous.

“We released images and details of the new model at the recent Sanctuary Cove boat show and it has caused a great deal of excitement,” said Corbitt.

“It’s set to be a stunning, high-performance vessel, which will have broad appeal.

“We have our views of what the market is looking for in this type of vessel and size range, but we wanted to make sure we were correct before we went into full production, so we have done considerable research and listened to those in the market.

“The vessel will have all the hallmarks of quality, design, style and excellent seakeeping abilities evident in our other Maritimo models but it will also have a number of unique features. For instance recessed walkaround sidedecks will make it easy to move around the vessel,” he said.

Corbitt added the M45 would feature a generous saloon comparable to the Maritimo M48 and M53, saloon windows forward for natural light and a sense of space, a saloon daybed/lounge that converts to a double berth, an aft galley and wide-opening bi-fold saloon doors, internal staircase to the flybridge, a three-sided enclosed flybridge with forward helm, an aft full-width flybridge dinette lounge that converts to a double berth, transom barbecue console and a two-cabin, two-bathroom layout.

In all the boat will have the capacity to sleep eight people and will come with the choice of twin-shaft or two IPS propulsion models.

“We have run a number of sessions with dealers and customers and taken onboard their feedback and desires in terms of what the boat will ultimately look like and include,” said Corbitt.

“Maritimo is all about delivering high-quality, stylish vessels that actually work and function brilliantly in everyday use.

“We are at the forefront of the industry when it comes to performance and much of that can be attributed to Bill Barry-Cotter, who instinctively knows what will work the best mechanically and in terms of hull design,” he said.

Corbitt said Maritimo’s size enabled it to be agile and adaptable to the changing market demands and meant it could add more individuality to the range of vessels it produced.

“This is a perfect example of that maneuverability in action,” said Corbitt. The M45 will be priced from $995,000.
