BOATING ALERT - Spit Bridge closures
Sydney motorists and boaters are advised of changed traffic conditions on and under the Spit Bridge, Middle Harbour in June and July for bridge span lift-system improvement work.
The bridge will not open to marine traffic from Monday, June 18 to Sunday, July 1, inclusive.
The road and pedestrian path will be closed to motorists for up to three hours between 1am and 4am on Monday, June 18 and Monday, July 2. Bus services will be detoured.
Partial road closures will also be in place for up to three hours before and two hours after the full closure on these dates.
Road users will be able to access the bridge during partial closures. Traffic control and a 40kmh speed limit will be in place.
In the event of wet weather, work will be carried out on Tuesday, June 19 and Tuesday, July 3.
Work was scheduled to be carried out earlier in May and June, but was delayed due to wet weather.
Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and obey all signs.
