NEWS - Princess V52 awarded UK's 2012 Motor Boat of the Year
Brit marque Princess Yachts has won the UK’s IPC magazines Motor Boat of the Year award with its V52 sportscruiser in the ‘Sports above 45ft’ category.
More than 200 industry representatives attended the invitation-only awards, sponsored by Pantaenius, at the Savoy Hotel in London on Monday, January 9. A total of 57 boats vied for the awards in nine categories.
The V52 was said to be the “unanimous choice” of the judges and the one boat in the most competitive category that the judges would (if it were their money) most like to buy for themselves.
“The V52 is a boat which offers an almost implausibly well-balanced package of handling, performance, accommodation and practicality,” enthused one media outlet. “It’s the supreme jack-of-all-trades that leaves its owners with nothing to complain about and an awful lot to celebrate.”
The Princess V52 follows in the wake of sister ships V62 and V45 as previous winners of the award.
“We take real pride in making every Princess the best they can be so to receive independent recognition that you have succeeded is extremely rewarding,” said the builder’s managing director Chris Gates. “The whole team can be very proud of this award, it is yet another testimony to the passion we have throughout the Company to produce world-class boats.”
The V52 was one of 12 Princess craft on display at the recent London International Boat Show including the brand-new V57 and V39 Sports Yachts, both in world launches.
The award-winning V52 arrives in Australian waters in March this year.
