NEW BOATS - Cooper Tender
As summer approaches and the weather beckons us onto the water, here’s a sneak preview of the new model
“If you are familiar with the superb Wally powerboats from Monaco, our new tender offers a similar-style vessel (although a more compact size) to these iconic fast tenders,” says importer Duncan Stewart from Coopersloop Australia.
The Cooper Tender measures 25.5 feet LOA and is powered by a 110hp Yanmar freshwater-cooled diesel with shaftdrive for comfortable cruise speeds in excess of 20kts.
“We are still testing different propeller configurations at present, but we’re aiming for a sprint speed of around 25kts to allow water skiing, as well as fast transit times while retaining spectacular diesel economy and low emissions,” says Stewart.
The Cooper 765 Fast Tender hull is solid handlaid fibreglass and available in any colour at no extra charge. A range of options for the Australian market includes enclosed head, a full tonneau cover, and a double berth.
Stewart says the new launch offers many of the luxurious features of the Coopersloop 745 open launch, such as bowthruster as standard, teak decks, lots of stainless steel, Euro fittings, powerful stereo, etc.
Accompanying the Cooper Tender release is a photo of a Wally 47 as, perhaps, a hint of what the new 765 (shown hereabouts undergoing final fitout) will look like. According to the importer,
the abovementioned Wally tender sells in Europe for around $US1 million as a 2007 model.
“As you can see, she (the 765) is very European, predatory, and very, very sexy,” says Stewart. “As yet, we are still finalising pricing but we are expecting to retail the Cooper Tender from around $A107,000 fully equipped and registered to drive away on the water,” he said.
Coopersloop Australia added it has two new Coopersloop 745 launches (read the Trade-a-Boat test online at www.tradeaboat.com.au/news-and-reviews/article/articleid/70436.aspx) available at a “heavily discounted” sale price to make way for new 2012 stock.
