BOAT SHOWS - Mandurah nears capacity
Organisers of next month’s Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show said this year’s event is almost at capacity following the confirmation of the 200th exhibitor.
The West’s biggest pleasureboat exhibition has a hardstand space of 24,000m² and will feature more than 650 boats, including 100 on water.
Show manager, Peter Woods said he was excited about the size of this year’s event and said that while officially all the space has been sold, they were still receiving calls from interested exhibitors.
“The large number of exhibitors… shows that there is optimism in the industry, and the enthusiasm is growing after a couple of low years,” Woods said.
Aside from the quantity of exhibitors this year, Woods said he was also pleased with the quality; particularly because of the number of new releases on display.
“This year’s Show will see the Australian debut of the 48 Portofino from Sunseeker Australia, which is one of the biggest and most expensive boats ever seen at the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show,” said Woods. “There are also several other WA releases from Fairline, Eagle Yachts, Maritimo, and Riviera.”
Woods added that this years Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show would have the biggest display of yachts and catamarans than ever before.
Organisers said Mandurah has always been a popular event for boating enthusiasts, but is expected to attract even bigger crowds with the introduction of several new features including the Western Angler Super Fishing stage, the Club Marine Discover Boating display and Personal Watercraft demonstration area.
Free kayak rides, activities for the kids, competitions and special guests round off the weekend’s entertainment.
To celebrate this year’s Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show, Channel 7, The West Australian, and Mix 94.5 are giving away a Sea Ray runabout and trailer package worth $43,000. (For details, and more information, log on to www.mandurahboatshow.com.au).
