Smuggler Marine releases new Strata 750 RIB model
NZ RIB and yacht tender builder Smuggler has released its new Strata 750 RIB with several improvements and appointments over the previous model.
New Zealand boat manufacturer Smuggler Marine is thrilled to announce the release of its latest model, the Strata 750 RIB. The new RIB (rigid inflatable boat) features a number of improvements and appointments over the previous generation model.
The new-generation 750 now features Smuggler’s all-new Gen 2 console with a toilet located under the helm console and an onboard WAECO refrigerator under the helm seat. The hull shape will remain the same as previous models.
Other changes to the new model include upgraded seating, a redesigned Targa top and stainless structure, as well as the addition of new removable side clears to provide extra protection from the elements.
Now comprised of two Captain’s-style seats, the helm seating has lift-up seat bolsters and foldable armrests. The 750 model retains existing passenger seating, a sun pad in the bow area and aft corner seating in the cockpit.
Storage is not a problem in the new model, with underfloor lockers forward and aft and extra storage under the helm seat and in the transom.
The new model retains Smuggler’s 27-degree deep vee hull which is proven to deliver incredible rough water performance. With a Yamaha F250hp four-stroke outboard engine, the 750 is easily capable of 50 knots.
The Strata 750 Centre Console will also remain entirely customisable to suit owner needs, with stern drive and modern four-stroke models also available.
Smuggler Marine’s managing director David Pringle comments: “It’s been a successful model for us but like anything we’re always looking for ways to make it better, so we’ve made some styling and functionality improvements.
“The Strata 750 appeals to a wide variety of buyers. We’ve sold a lot outside of New Zealand as high-performance super yacht tenders, or chase boats for sailing syndicates. The new model also appeals to those who want a high-performance RIB for fishing and diving excursions. A number of Strata 750s have also gone to Western Australia, the Pacific and Europe.”
Smuggler has recently delivered two 750 Centre Console RIBs as dive tenders for a 62-metre Amels motor yacht in Asia. One is powered by a diesel stern drive and the other with a Hamilton Jet drive.
