Horizon Yachts launches custom-designed FD80
The latest custom-designed FD80 superyacht from Horizon Yachts debuts on the Australian market.
Horizon Yachts is known for bringing impressive vessels to the market, and this custom-designed FD80 is no exception. Designed by renowned Dutch designer, Cor D. Rover, the lavish 80-foot power yacht boats a four-stateroom layout with an on-deck master suite and split-use sky lounge, powered by twin MTU 10V2000 1600hp engines. It’s no doubt a luxurious yacht and the most successful model in Horizon’s popular high-volume Fast Displacement (FD) Series of motor yachts.
The interior styling of the new FD80 is defined by curves and rounded shapes, light grey oak woodwork and bright whites all complemented with gold accents. The main deck offers a spacious aft deck with a large dining table for eight and walk-around side decks. The open-plan interior layout sees a spacious living area accompanied by a multi-functional interior dining space that features a convertible dining/breakfast table to starboard.
Forward of the salon area, the open galley features a centre island (made of Hermitage Cambria quartz) with a sit-up bar counter and three bar chairs. An electric drop-down panel separates the island and most of the galley view from the salon when desired.
The master suite spans the full beam of the forwardmost section of the main deck. The large space comfortably accommodates an independent vanity and chair to starboard next to the bed with a matching light grey oak headboard. A honeycomb skylight with an electric blind over the bed provides additional natural light and adds a special touch to the space.
Accessed from the lower foyer highlighted by reeded panels, three ensuite staterooms are positioned on the lower deck and comprise mirrored VIPs amidships and forward VIP in the bow. This forward stateroom features rotating beds that can be joined to form a queen or separated as two twins, depending on guest needs. The accommodations are made complete with a fully equipped laundry room, including washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.
Going outside, deck areas are spacious and well-planned. Forward of the enclosed wheelhouse — which features three helm chairs, a raised dinette and a control panel with Garmin navigation package and CZone monitoring system — the forward bow area is fitted with a U-shaped dinette and sun pads.
The most used areas aboard the new FD80 will undoubtedly be the split-use sky lounge and bridge deck. Protected by the yacht’s hardtop and opening windows to either side, the covered area features a full bar with three stools, a pull-out Teppanyaki grill station and fold-down 43in TV to starboard. To port, a U-shaped sofa is accompanied by a dining table that can expand to suit a number of guests. A heated jacuzzi with its own bar counter with stools is in the centre of the deck, creating a luxurious socialising space. This exterior area is shaded by outdoor awnings for maximum comfort.
Outback there is also a Hi/Lo swim platform with a 680kg lifting capacity and below are crew quarters for four. The stunning FD80 will be available for inspections next month. For a tour, please contact Horizon Yacht Australia by emailing sales@horizonyachtaus.com.
