International Spotlight: Beneteau Flyer 8

Launching the Flyer 8 into the waters of its first world premiere, Beneteau continues to expand its new generation of dayboats.

Sporting a sleek and stylishly modern design, the Flyer 8 includes a range of new features that establish its versatility in the market. Focussing on comfort, ergonomics and style, the Flyer 8 was constructed using top-quality materials and fittings, holds stable control at peak speeds of 40 knots, and certified to carry 10 passengers. Whether it be a relaxing holiday, a fishing escape or exciting water sports, this powerful boat suits everyone’s requirements.

“Working with the Andreani Design team, we made the Flyer 8 much more than a boat for having fun at sea. It now stands out as a beautiful, spirited boat,” says Michael Guinet, outboard powerboat manager at Beneteau.

The SUNdeck is perfect for family getaways, with a generous cabin, large berth, separate head and a large Smart Walkaround which provides access to the spacious fore deck and reclining sun pads – a new inclusion the previous generation lacks.

The SPACEdeck is designed with water sports and fishing in mind, and sports a long open deck plan, ensuring freedom of movement and versatility of use. A lowered pulpit gives its adventurers easy access to the sea, while the large anchor well doubles as a diving board. While designed for versatile, practical use, the SPACEdeck still ensures the comfort of its passengers. A lounge with facing seats can be found at the bow and is cleverly designed to transform into a sunbathing area, and the inclusion of rotating backrests allow forward sea view possible while underway. The cabin includes a head, refrigerator, and a small berth perfect for a child.

Modular fittings are featured throughout the Flyer 8, establishing an easy flow through the shared spaces. From the aft bench that converts to a sun-bathing area, to the removeable benches and drivers chairs that turn to create a six-person cockpit lounge, there are clever fittings all throughout the Flyer 8 that aim to make boating a pleasant and joyful experience.

The Flyer 8 SPACEdeck will have its world premiere at the Southampton International Boat Show, running from 16-25 September, while the Salone Nautico in Genoa will be the first to introduce the Flyer 8 SUNdeck. Following these debuts, both versions will be exhibited at Grand Pavois in La Rochelle.
