Spotlight: The impressive Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht

An advanced hull design and leading-edge boat-building methods have given the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht many impressive features.

An improved power-to-weight ratio means greater fuel efficiency, reflecting Riviera’s legendary blue water performance. A contemporary new profile creates more volume, offering a spacious cockpit, luxurious saloon and generous accommodation deck boasting a full-beam master suite.

The 4600 employs the revolutionary Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 propulsion system with twin D6 diesel engines and IPS10 pod-drives (2 x 353kW/480hp). This is a perfectly matched drive package for the 4600 and the system’s Class 5 commercial rating assures reliability and durability. The option of Volvo Penta D8-IPS800 with twin D8 diesel engines and IPS 15 pod-drives (2 x 441kW/600hp) is available

Stepping aboard, there is a generous boarding platform with a fixed hob from the transom that allows excellent access when your tender is secured. The hydraulic swim platform can be lowered from here to launch the tender without getting your feet wet.

Teak steps port and starboard provide easy access to the side decks of the sport yacht. Entry to the cockpit is via a transom gate off the starboard steps. This design creates additional space in the port corner for a very comfortable L-shaped lounge. Together with a solid timber foldout table, it’s the perfect alfresco setting, stretching round half the cockpit. Relax or entertain in style with a premium sound system, drawer fridge, separate icemaker and a barbecue station with wet bar and sink. Twin electric sunroofs glide open at the press of a button.

Slide open the tinted glass door, then open out the large, tinted glass awning window, both framed in stainless steel, and the alfresco cockpit connects and flows through to the saloon and galley creating one large, single level of luxury.

Galley

The galley has all the features of a designer kitchen with premium appliances and handcrafted timber joinery. Solid surface benchtops, electric cooktop, rangehood, combination microwave oven and the option of a drawer style dishwasher complete the galley wish list.

Starboard of the galley is a bar/serving station with a liquor cabinet for bottle and glassware and dual fridge-freezer drawers. Moving forward, opposite the helm is a generous and luxurious U-shaped lounge dining area with a solid timber folding table. A premium sound system is hidden in the handcrafted cabinetry. Lower the window blinds and the saloon becomes a cinema room with a large LED TV tilting up into place on the starboard dash.

The helm is a state-of-the-art command station brimming with touchscreen technology. Visibility is outstanding through the curved tempered glass windscreen. Captain and companion chairs are fully adjustable and deeply comfortable; the leather is hand-stitched and the mood is pure luxury.

Accommodation

On the accommodation deck, the master suite is bathed in natural light and has an oversize queen island bed, boutique bedside tables, a portside chaise lounge and timber drawer bureau to starboard. There’s a generous cedar-lined hanging locker plus a large pull-out storage locker under the flush-mounted LED TV. The ensuite has handcrafted vanity cabinet, solid surface benchtop with porcelain basin, frameless glass door and teak shower seat.

The forward stateroom of every Riviera delivers with private entry, large walkaround bed and natural light from tinted hull windows and adjoining VIP ensuite.

The port guest stateroom has two adult-sized beds, a cedar-lined hanging locker with drawers below, bedside table, private entry door and the luxury of a tinted hull window with opening port hole. Guests share the dual-access bathroom of the forward stateroom, which also serves as a day head. There is also the option of a lower lounge in place of the port guest cabin. This becomes the perfect media room to entertain younger children, or perhaps the grandkids. The lounge also converts to a very accommodating double bed for overnight guests.

The 4600 Sport Yacht’s garage is a very practical area for all the family’s fishing gear, water toys, floating mat, water scooter, snorkelling and dive gear — even a 2.7m kayak. Hose it all down with fresh water on the boarding platform ready for tomorrow’s adventures. The large garage door opens at the press of a button and there is also easy access via a hatch in the cockpit to securely stow fenders.
