The glamour and prestige of SCIBS 2022 is upon us

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is here again — and this year’s event is poised to be better than ever

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest boat shows and something keen seafarers look forward to each year. With the success of 2021 as its backdrop, the 2022 show is set to deliver. Increasingly, ever more Australians are getting out on the water. Post-isolation, the seafaring public appears to be keen to go day-tripping, sunbathing, swimming, and simply cruising.

No matter what your marine needs, SCIBS is sure to hold your interest. With names like Maritimo, Horizon, and Navico on the docket, your itinerary will be full to the brim.

Beneteau is Back
Beneteau, Lagoon Catamarans and Excess Catamarans will be presenting a fleet of 10 models for a diverse array of visitors, including monohulls (sailboats, as well as outboard and inboard motorboats) and catamarans (sail and power). The display at the show is jointly arranged by Beneteau’s dealers in Australia, Flagstaff Marine, Spirit Marine and The Multihull Group, and greatly supported by Beneteau, Excess and Lagoon Asia Pacific. They warmly invite you to visit their line-up and celebrate the boating lifestyle in Australia.
Beneteau Inboards will be front and centre, as the sailing yacht and motorboat builder has an exciting new model to present. Excess 11 will have her Australian debut at the show after her sister model Excess 12 had her Asian Pacific premiere at Boating Rendezvous Sydney 2020. As the entry model of the Excess family, she offers the thrills of sailing with the ingeniously designed twin helm station aft, spacious living and social areas, as well as comfort under sail.

That’s the Spirit
Leading local boat broker Spirit Marine is excited to showcase its latest addition, the Oceanis 40.1 Performance Model. The new Beneteau model will make its debut at SCIBS and is sure to impress. Spirit Marine Principal Peter Nicholson believes that the Oceanis 40.1 Performance represents the pinnacle of European shipbuilding and is looking forward to showcasing the yacht to Queensland boating enthusiasts. Spirit Marine is also known for its line of Antares models. Three new variations, the Antares 11 Fly, Antares 8 V2 and Antares 8 Fisher, have been introduced due to popular demand. As the world returns to boating and fishing, demand for Spirit Marine vessels has doubled over the past few years.

eYachts on Show
Join Eyachts for the biggest Axopar/BRABUS Marine stand ever with no fewer than eight boats on show at Sanctuary Coves Marine Village. Find eYachts at the E Ramp entrance; this is a day boat display you won’t want to miss. Many Australians have already learned to love the world’s fastest-growing boat brand, Axopar, and this is your chance to see the range of award-winning day boats. eYachts might have some surprises up their sleeve, make sure to go speak to them about the luxurious Pardo Yachts and Greenline Yachts ranges. For the first time Aussies will be able to see the new Axopar 22 range, alongside the multi-award winning Axopar 28 range and the revolutionary latest generation Axopar 37.

On the Horizon
Horizon Yacht Australia has been turning heads on the Australia waterways and flooding the market with the bold Horizon FD Series. The FD Series features a high-performance piercing bow, a proprietary design by Horizon Yachts.
This design, in conjunction with the hybrid hull shape and tunnel design, delivers a shallow draft, more comfortable ride, lower resistance ad excellent stability. The FD Series answers the market’s demand for style, space and performance that traditional style yachts can’t accommodate.
So, it’s no surprise the fastest growing yacht series to date, the FD Series, will be headlining SCIBS this year. Sales are expected to skyrocket after showgoers step on board the Fast Displacement Series. The Horizon Yacht Australia Team will showcase a Horizon FD75 Open Flybridge, Horizon FD80Skyline (stock boat) and a Horizon FD90 Skyline. The Horizon Display is located on G pier. Meeting Maritimo
Leading Australian luxury motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo, which has continued to build on the momentum of its new model development strategy from 2021, has big plans for this year’s SCIBS. There will be no fewer than three global launches forming part of a six vessel showcase to highlight the diversity and world leading model range proudly carrying the Maritimo brand. Maritimo’s lead designer, Tom Barry-Cotter, said SCIBS 2022 would be one of the most exciting displays in recent memory for the Australian manufacturer.
“SCIBS 2022 will see show attendees from Europe, Asia and the Americas welcomed back for the first time since the 2019 global pandemic and travel restrictions,” he said.

The new S75 Sedan motor yacht will take the mantle as the new flagship vessel within Maritimo’s S-Series lineage, joining the S51, S55 and S60 Sedan motor yachts.
The S75 Sedan Motor Yacht is scheduled for its Global Launch in late 2022. Barry-Cotter said Maritimo was in its strongest position in the company’s history, with orders on some of the new models now stretching into 2025, the company’s workforce being expanded and its dealer partner network internationally being strengthened to bolster future demand in varied overseas markets.

“The widespread appeal of Maritimo’s vessels and their reputation for build quality, stylish design, seaworthiness and long-range cruising capacity puts is in very good stead to continue our company’s mission,” said Barry-Cotter, adding that further exciting company announcements are planned for 2022.

Navico Returns
This year’s SCIBS is another big one for Navico with a huge range of Lowrance, B&G, Simrad Yachting,  C-MAP and JL Audio products on display.
From Simrad Yachting, for the first time in Australia, the newly launched Simrad NSX chartplotter and fishfinder will be on display. The Simrad NSX is available in 7”, 9” and 12” display sizes and is based on a new Operating System built from the ground up to redefine boating experiences.
In addition to NSX, the Simrad NSOevo3s and Simrad NSSevo3s series will also be on display for consumers to get hands on and have a system schematic/quote created for a refit or new build by one of the experienced sales staff.
From Lowrance, the ActiveTarget live sonar, suitable for use in coastal or inshore applications, can also be viewed by boat show attendees. The ActiveTarget Live Sonar views show high-resolution images of fish movements in real time and in detail. With this immediate feedback, anglers can adjust the presentation to trigger a strike, and know if more than one predator fish is active in the area.
Visit the show and speak to one of their friendly sales staff at stand 244 in the Pavilion.
