Local Spotlight: Azimut 68
The Azimut 68 is the yacht builder’s newest addition to the Flybridge Collection, bringing innovation and customisation to the next level
Lifestyle of your choosing
Producing vessels since 1969, Azimut Yachts has increased its technological and production capacities, with a presence in 80 countries worldwide. Its newest model in the Flybridge Collection, the Azimut 68, reveals the manufacturer’s innovation advances and, with the increase of local travel, Azimut has tapped into the desire for individual preferences and customisations for boats, designing the Azimut 68 to place the owner at the helm of the process to choose the way they desire to live onboard and use the boat. The new model has three possible main deck configurations for customers to choose from, plus a multifunctional area, each with a particular lifestyle in mind.
These include the Lanterna, the enclosed galley layout, which has an elegant living area located by the main deck entrance, with the galley tucked away behind a rubbed wood and plexiglass surface. While closed off to create privacy, light still flows through the entire space to create a luminous and spacious environment. The open galley layout is more convivial, with the galley in a discreet location towards the bow but opening directly into the dining area, which can also be converted into a second lounge. For a less formal arrangement, the aft galley layout caters more to an outdoor social area, while still serving indoors, but keeps the cook connected the entire time. This option has a more relaxed flow, as the dining area is found immediately across from the galley as you enter from the cockpit, which leads to the living area forward.
The Azimut 68 is a cruisy vessel for any keen boat enthusiast
While producing three separate layouts for owners to choose from, Azimut has kept the beauty and tasteful design throughout. Exterior designer, Alberto Mancini, has created a design that sculpts the surfacing to achieve a sporty and modern design, but still models the same sleek and streamlined style with clean lines that Azimut’s yachts are known for. The Azimut 68 accommodates up to eight guests with four cabins and three bathrooms below deck, as well as one or two crew members in a separate area.
The yacht has a low centre of gravity due to the use of carbon fibre in the upper parts, including the superstructure, hard top and part of the deck, which also increases stability and cruising comfort up to speeds of 32 knots. This speed is carried along by twin Volvo IPS 1350 engines, making the Azimut 68 a cruisy vessel for any keen boat enthusiast.
