Nautor's Swan Shadow

Now, owners of beautiful big Nautor's Swan sailing yachts can pair their vessel with a custom tender.

Nautor Swan are renowned for the manufacture of some of the world's most impressive sailing yachts. Their combined luxury and racing pedigree make them a real connoisseur's brand; once a Nautor Swan owner, a Nautor Swan owner for life. And now, they're making brand loyalty even easier. 

The new Swan Shadow marks the company's first foray into the powerboat sector, and what a debut it is! According to the company president, Leonardo Ferragamo, the concept has been brewing for a long time: “For so many years we’ve been thinking about launching a power boat, but we always resisted this temptation until we really felt we had something really special and unique to present. And this is what is happening with Swan Shadow.”

Thanks to it's outboard lineup of three 225–350hp engines, the hull is capable of hitting speeds up to 55kt. Their position in front of a movable aft platform makes for a versatile back end swim platform, boarding platform and watersports launching pad. 

The deck allows for multiple configurations of furniture and accessories, with a completely flat surface and bolt-on fittings. Owners can switch from a sun lounge to a game chair without having to overhaul the whole thing. As a companion to a larger vessel, the Swan Shadow is set up with a cabin to cater for overnight forays into hard-to-reach archipelagos and remote beaches. 

Designer Jarkko Jämsén explains: “Performance is an equally important part of Nautor’s heritage, and this needs to be factored in when designing the product. We have different options in the range from a short and lightweight T-top to a more substantial, convertible Limousine tender. We also use a bolt-on system on deck that allows for multiple different furniture layouts. With this type of a versatile design, we rely heavily on computational fluid dynamics simulation (CFD) to optimise the performance in all of the various product configurations.”
