Minter Brings Yamaha to City

Minter Marine is expanding their operations to a new facility in the heart of the city at Rozelle as an Authorised Yamaha dealership.

Owned by local Sydney Harbour identity Henry Minter, Minter Marine has become one of the most trusted and respected names within the industry offering boat sales and slipway services since 2015 and have now announced their alignment with industry juggernaut, Yamaha. With doors to its second location in Rozelle now officially open, Minter Marine is in operation as Sydney’s newest Authorised Yamaha outboard dealership offering a full suite of Yamaha products and services with an impressive range of boats and products from brands including Italboats, Highfield, Seachange Boating, Simrad, Lowrance, BOTE and YETI.

After recognising an increase in outboard inquiries from existing clients and identifying a lack of options in the Sydney harbour region, the expansion and alignment with Yamaha felt like a natural progression for Minter.

The new facility is located near the water and the major boating centre of Leichhardt Bay, several dry boat storage facilities and the Bay Precinct new development. This also includes the new fish market, so it's a busy thoroughfare for boaters. “Until now, Sydney-based Yamaha customers have had to travel 30km outside of CBD to visit their nearest dealerships,” said Minter.

The new fully authorised Yamaha Service Centre has six staff with two technicians who are Yamaha trained plus experienced sales staff trained in Yamaha Motor Insurance and Yamaha Motor Finance. For sales, the full range of Yamaha outboards are available (2.5HP to 425HP). The inner-west location means space is tight, yet Minter has created four nominated car parks at the facility with additional visitor parking in the complex. There is also street parking in the neighbouring streets. “Our dual location in Point Piper and Rozelle, means we are able to cater for both trailer-towed and moored vessel crafts which will save our clients valuable time,” said Minter. 

Minter Marine Point Piper offers a comprehensive vessel slipway and haul-out service for timber and fibreglass powerboats and sailing yachts up to a maximum of 50 feet. Most usefully, this includes anti-fouling as well.

Another reason for the company expansion is the buoyant market and the sudden surge of boating boosted by the epidemic prompting boaters to localise their time. “Generally speaking, boat sales since February 2020 have been on the rise. As it may be some time before international borders open (and even then, will travel ever be the same?) we will be encouraging people to take up boating and get out on the water as a recreational activity,” added Minter.
