Inspired by the ideal proportions of the 'Vitruvian Man', this superyacht is all graceful lines

In a little over a decade, Vitruvius Yachts Ltd have become renowned for clean lines and designs inspired by Leonardo da Vinci&rsquo;s &lsquo;Vitruvian Man&rsquo;. Led by London based naval architect and yacht designer, Phillipe Briand, Vitruvius specialises in combining science and art to produce sleek and sustainable custom yachts, and their latest custom project was no different.Najiba is the result of three years of intensive collaboration and is the first Vitruvius project to be built at Dutch shipyard Feadship. At 58 metres, it is also the second largest aluminium vessel to be built at the shipyard. Exacting standards and Feadship&rsquo;s history of custom yacht construction made it the ideal choice for this cutting-edge project.Designed to be comfortable both at sea and when moored, the sleek external lines of the Najiba give way to an interior from Studio Liaigre. Featuring woods and immaculate white surfaces, the interior is reminiscent of a whitewashed beachside villa. Onboard are two main staterooms for the owners and VIP guests, plus four other staterooms, all of which combine to create accommodation for up to 12 people. Additionally, there is space for 14 crew members to help out with whatever you need. With space for two PWCs and a tender, Najiba has been created with long leisurely trips in mind. &nbsp;The real highlight of the Najiba, though, is its economy. Briand has long been focussed on the reduction of carbon emissions and improved sustainability in superyachts. Briand uses his understanding of hydrodynamics to ensure the design of the yachts, particularly of the hull, makes all this possible. The hull of Najiba, with Briand&#39;s distinctive vertical bow, is a prime example of this. Meticulously planned and made of aluminium, the hull demonstrates the scientific side of Vitruvius&rsquo; focus. It brings fuel consumption down to 11.5 litres per nautical mile at the cruising speed of 12 knots. With a top speed of 16 knots and a fuel capacity of 90,000 litres, the Najiba has a possible range of 4400 nautical miles.The amount of work, detail and thought that has gone into the design and construction of this superyacht is immense.
