The Sea Jay 4.4 Avenger. Another solid tinnie from Sea Jay.

Sea Jay 4.4 Avenger Preview

From Iron Man to Captain America to The Hulk, Avengers have been a very big deal in recent years, and marine manufacturer Sea Jay has just released a new addition to the pantheon, the 4.4 Avenger.

With a recommended maximum horsepower rating of 50, the 4.4 features Sea Jay’s signature reverse chine, which the company says enhances its stability at rest and allows for easier planing with minimal power, which in turn means optimum fuel efficiency. The boat even has an external keel fitted for easier tracing.

This new Avenger is built for fishing, and with its plate 3mm sides and bottoms it’s designed to handle all of the tough stuff a keen angler will likely throw at it. Two hatches each for the front and rear cast platforms allow for more than enough storage space for a long day on the water, while a 60L under-floor fuel tank, together with a half fuel tank rack under the front cast platform, mean you’ll have enough juice to make it back. There are also plenty of rod holders, with six plastic holders fitted to the wide side decks.

The front cast platform is also the home for the on-board battery, while a storage rack is ideal for safety gear, as are the two side pockets within the hull.

Up front, two fully-upholstered folding seats are featured standard, with five socket positions that allow for easy movement around the boat according to your desired fishing positions.

In terms of electrics, sounder mount and switch panel plate are fitted within the hull, while an electric motor plate is fitted off the gunwhale, together with a bow sprit and roller on the front deck.

The Avenger will be also available in 4.2-4.55 and 4.85 hull lengths. Keep an eye out for a full test of an Avenger in a future edition of TrailerBoat magazine and on this here website.
